Today in the first round of districts the Lady Trojans took on Filer at home.  Wendell finished 3 in conference and got to host at home today.  Whoever won today got to advance to the next round.  The Lady Trojans were focused and determined to continue.  In the first have freshman Yoselin Acevedo took a shoot at the keeper, the ball rebounded off the keeper and she knocked it into the back of the net.  Both teams continued to work hard and halfway through the half Yadira Alvarez passed a through ball to Lizeth Alvarado who was able to take a shot into the far corner and converted it into a goal.  At half the score was 2-0 in favor of Wendell.  Wendell came out determined in the second half to get more goals.  Filer make a quick attack, keeper Gracie Emery came out on the ball, which got away from her, both Kyla Texeira and Ali Orozco covered the net but the ball got through.  Then Wendell took the ball down Filer’s side of the field and Maria Acevedo took a shot in the box to go in.  Later on Jackie Alvarez scored.  Wendell took the win to advance to the next round.  Next they take on Kimberly on Tuesday in Kimberly.  GO TROJANS.
